Why Honey's Farmhouse Is the Perfect Wellness Getaway

Rest doesn't come easy when life never slows down long enough to catch it. At Honey's Farmhouse, we built a wellness getaway around the kind of rest that actually sinks in.

Our mornings start in the garden, picking blackberries and figs before coffee. Days move at whatever pace you need. This is real farm life in Lothian, Maryland, right down to the soil under your feet.

Here's what a stay looks like and why so many keep coming back.

What a Wellness Getaway at Honey's Farmhouse Looks Like

A wellness getaway here starts with a farmhouse and a two-acre garden, an edible landscape you're invited to walk through, pick, and enjoy. Mornings begin slowly, coffee or herbal tea in hand, meandering through the abundant fig orchard.

Inside, the farmhouse is clean and well-kept, with simple, nature-inspired finishes that feel elegant without losing an ounce of comfort. Every detail was intentional, built for wellness from the ground up.

The kitchen is fully equipped, but meals and groceries are not included, so bring your own food to cook or arrange a meal with our holistic chef ahead of your stay. The whole house is gluten-free, so every meal and snack is one less thing for gluten-sensitive people to think about.

Beyond the farmhouse itself, our experiences bring the wellness side of your stay to life, from garden walks to time in the yoga studio. Rest looks different for everyone, and this farmhouse gives you room to find yours.

A Few Ways to Spend Your Days Here

No two stays here look quite the same. Some guests want a full calendar, others want none at all, and both are welcome.

Here's a taste of what a day here might include:

  • A walk through the garden. Pick your own blackberries, strawberries, and figs — whatever's ready that day.

  • Bare feet in the grass. No agenda required, just the land under your feet and a few quiet minutes to yourself.

  • A cup of herbal tea. Grown and blended right here on the farm, ready whenever you are.

  • Our First and Third Sunday Markets. Local vendors fill the barn twice a month, free to wander through.

  • A seasonal workshop or class. Gentle Yoga, an Elderberry Workshop, or something new, there's often a session if you want to join in.

Some guests fill every hour of their stay, moving from the garden to the market to a workshop and back again. Others spend most of their time doing nothing at all, and that's just as much the point. Either way, the farm meets you where you are.

The Land Itself Is Part of the Retreat

Something happens when your feet touch real soil after months of pavement and carpet. That feeling comes from the same permaculture method behind everything growing here.

Our two acres are built on living soil, home to a working ecosystem rather than anything treated with chemicals. That same soil grows the blackberries, figs, and herbs that end up in your tea and on your plate. Walking barefoot across it is part of why guests leave feeling more like themselves. We take that connection seriously enough to teach a workshop built entirely around it.

Sometimes the retreat is just standing still in the grass for a minute before breakfast.

Who This Wellness Getaway Is Designed For

Honey's Farmhouse welcomes guests booking weekend getaways, weddings, family reunions, and wellness retreats, and each one finds something a little different here.

A few types of guests tend to find their way here more than most:

  • Anyone running on empty. If work or motherhood has left you without a single day that belongs only to you, this is where you come to get one back.

  • Small groups planning a retreat. Our yoga studio and shared rooms make it easy to host a wellness retreat in Maryland, whether that's a workshop or a family reunion.

  • Wedding guests who are staying a little longer. We love hosting weddings, and many of those guests stay longer after the ceremony just for the quiet and a chance to catch their breath.

  • Women seeking a wellness retreat. Many arrive on their own, looking for a few days built entirely around rest and reconnecting with themselves.

  • Anyone who needs to slow down. You don't need a milestone or an occasion, just a stretch of days where rest is the whole plan.

We built this farmhouse to help people live a little more vibrantly, and every guest finds their own version of it. Some leave with a fuller pantry, others with a clearer head, and most leave wanting to come back.

Your Wellness Getaway Starts Here

A wellness getaway doesn't need to be complicated. Sometimes it's a garden full of blackberries. A quiet room. A few days where no one needs anything from you.

You already know what it feels like to run on empty. Think about the version of you that shows up here instead. Barefoot in the grass. Tea in hand. Unhurried, maybe for the first time in months. That's the version worth coming back for.

Rest happens here. It isn't something we just talk about. Come pick your own breakfast. Sit with the quiet. Let a full day pass without a single thing on the calendar. Every stay ends a little differently, but most guests leave a bit more like themselves.

Give yourself the rest and rejuvenation you deserve. Book your stay at Honey's Farmhouse.
